TOP 10 American Idol (season 6) Performance Night
It wasn’t clear to me as to what is the theme of this week’s episode. But the very beautiful Gwen Stefani appeared tonight as the star coach of the top 10, and so far it appears that she’s not so easy to please (although her sweet words are still in tact). It turns out that not all contenders were required to sing a Gwen Stefani Song, although some did sing a Gwen Stefani song…including Sanjaya

Chris Sligh sang “Every Little Thing She Does is Magicâ€. The judges didn’t like it, saying he was “off tempoâ€. His performance was blah, if you ask me. Just like when Haley Scarnato sang Cindy Lauper’s “True Colorsâ€, she was almost boring audiences to sleep.
Gina Glocksen did a slow song this time, and she did so well. She sang “I’ll Stand by Youâ€. She got the best compliment form Simon Cowell, saying “It wasn’t one of your best performances…(boos from the audience)…It was your best performance.â€. WOW! Coming from Simon Cowell , that must’ve felt really good!
Sanjaya Malakar, once again, let his hair rule the night as he sported a scene-stealing fauxhawk. He sang No Doubt’s “Bathwater†. Jordin Sparks also sang No Doubt’s “Hey Babyâ€. Unlike Sanjaya, Jordin sang the song well and gave it justice.
Sanjaya:-)
Phil Stacey sounded so good when he sang “Every Breath You Takeâ€, and garnered well-earned praises from the judges, especially Simon. Good job!
Blake Lewis sang “Lovesong†by The Cure and sounded so good and looked so good as well (kudos to his stylist!). I’m sure the girls will put their fingers to work once again as they strive to keep this cutie on the show.
Blake:-)
Chris Richardson was the last to perform and performed “Don’t Speakâ€, also an original by the No Doubt band. I like the fresh r&b arrangement and I’m sure he’ll still be among the Top 9 next week.
