Well, well. Just when we thought that the producers of the most watched show of the world has run out of money-making ideas, they’ve decided to dig cash again by expanding the franchise. FremantleMedia (co-producer and licensor of American Idol) and 19 Entertainment (creator of American Idol) has teamed up to develop “IDOL CAMP”. It’s the world’s first (and probably would be THE ONLY) performing arts camp based on American Idol.

The organizers have announced the all-star line-up of AI Alum mentors for this summer’s Idol Camp. For starters, they have Vonzell Solomon (season 4), John Peter Lewis (season 3), and Carmen Rasmusen (season 1). For special Master Classes, they will be having Bucky Covington (season 5) and Kimberley Locke (season 2).

The Camp director, Donna Milani, promises a unique American Idol experience in giving ample performing arts education to kids, with the help of the AI instructors.

A few more days left to enroll in the Idol Camp. This program is open for 12-15 year olds all over America. Deadline of applications will be April 18^th , and Idol Camp begins on July 7th, 2007 in Northfield, Massachusetts.
