Chris Sligh…. Say what?
In a seemingly very desperate attempt to redeem himself, Chris Sligh made a statement that would make him sound like a sick clown. He said that he had contemplated quitting on American Idol before he was voted off. (Man, who in his right mind would do that? Ooohhhh…I forgot…Mario Vasquez already did that stunt on season 3… and it did him good…I think).
Staying at the Top 10 is such an honor (or is it?). All I know is, thousands of people would want to make it at least to the Top 10, why voluntarily quit??? Chris has his own reasons. Here were his lines:
“I never came into this wanting to win it,” said Sligh, 28, of
So that’s where the quitting thought came from, huh! Okay, now I dig him.

On the other hand, he said that it was nice to be on the Top 10 because of the perks: a potential recording contract without selling himself too much, getting to tour around the US for free, automatically being apart of the AI season 6 ENCORE album, getting a huge chunk of money, and a whole lot more.
He kinda knew he was the one to leave the show, he even said his good byes to all of the contestants even before the show started. Then he was at the bottom 2 during the results night of Top 10. Injuries were rubbed when Simon Cowell insensitively commented “I think it’s BYE BYE Curly†when he (Simon) was asked by Ryan Seacrest as to who’s gonna leave. Chris Sligh was hurt (ouch for the ego), and he clearly conveyed that emotional bruise on Ryan’s morning radio show on KIIS FM. “What a jerk. At least let me go out with some decencyâ€, that was what Chris would want to say to Simon’s face.
Yeah, that’s what we want to say to Simon too. Anyways, I hope to see more of you, Chris Sligh. If not in the music industry, I hope for you to be a successful comedian. You’re a natural.
And I hope someday, you can still make David Hasselhoff cry.
