Taylor Hicks, our reigning American Idol (Season 5) is not really categorically fat. With a height of 6′1″, this Soul Patrol singer may well be okay with his 215 lbs., or is he???

Apparently, Taylor has been working on some weight loss regimen. From 215 lbs. from last year, he now weighs 193 lbs., losing 22 pounds in almost a year of touring. He veered away from fried chicken, which he gladly referred to as a “southern comfort”. That must be really hard (who doesn’t want to eat fried chicken???). Nowadays, he’s more like a healthy salad person. Brown rice and fish soup are included in the diet. He also admits exercising for an average of 45 minutes a day when he has the chance. He runs on the streets not forgetting to cover his gray locks, that’s an essential if he want to stay out of flocks of fans. Yes, he can still pretty much roam the roads like a normal person as long as his top is covered.

Whatever are his rituals, he’s really doing them well. It’s all visible in his body now. And no, he hasn’t been starving due to alleged poor sales of album…SO NOT TRUE. Taylor Hicks…You Go, Boy!

Elliot, Elliot! Oh, now Elliot Yamin is a household name, thanks to his American Idol stint which landed him on the 3rd place during the 5th season last 2006. He’s come a long way from his unidentified status in Virginia, USA. This level of attention is so inevitable for this 20-something lad. He’s got one of the most amazing voices that anyone could ever hear in this lifetime. In fact, he was the one I was rooting for to win in last year’s season. I am totally a YAMINION!

Last year, when he was still at the peak of the ‘Idol” tour, he was asked by Entertainment Weekly about the type of song’s that he envisioned himself doing. He said “It’s going to have a funky, R&B vibe to it, that’s for sure. Not too watered down, not too overproduced. Just good music.”.Good music it is! And now we no longer have to wait for ages. His debut album is finally coming out March 20! That’s right folks, he’s gonna “sing like YAMIN it” in our own CD players in no time.

Much anticipated is the song “Wait For You”, another beautiful R&B pop vibe that everyone will rave about. Elliot’s brilliant voice will once again take our heart to new levels. I can’t wait to buy this amazing debut CD. Go Go, YAMINIONS!

Our season 5 American Idol, Taylor Hicks, has returned to his hometown in Birmingham, Alabama to do something great. He partnered with RED CROSS to be able to raise funds for the victims of the tornado. His 2 concerts (March 10 and 11 , 2007) were sold out just right after the announcement. This warm support given by his co-Birminghamers will go a long way.

Taylor Hicks has always been active in charities. In fact, a fraction of the sales (including digital downloads) of his “Do I Make You Proud” single goes to charity. It’s such a good way to thank America for his continued success.

In 2006, “Do I Make You Proud” was No.1 on The Billboard Hot 100. He continues to make raves in the charts with his new single “Just to Feel That Way”. America is digging the SOUL PATROL vibe, all the best for out TAYLOR HICKS!:-)

Did she? or didn’t she? That is the question.

Last week, Kellie Pickler appeared at the elimination night of the Top 20 AI hopefuls to promote the song “I Wonder“, which she co-wrote (she dedicates that song to her mom who wasn’t there at all while she was growing up). In spite of that touching back story, Kellie’s present physique was such a distraction. All everyone could look at was her boobs which has significantly and noticeably grown bigger than ever. At first glance, you’d really think she had a boob job. Even Ryan Seacreast didn’t let the thought pass by (Ryan: “So, what else did you buy aside from shoes?”)…hmm, Ryan Seacrest, what a sly! On the other hand, she’s gained weight and has bigger everything (cheeks, butt, sides), it’s like she’s making up for the times she wasn’t eating at all. With that thought, her boobs were included in the growth, accentuated by the deep neckline and probably some supplemental paddings (?) Theories, theories, theories!

Whether she had a boob job or not, the fact is, she definitely had the wrong choice of clothing. The color was bad, the cut was bad…and, what’s up with the hair?!?!? She just aged herself with no purpose. Why can’t she just stick to the sweet wholesome image that everyone loved??? It’s like she deliberately decided to have a bad hair day. Kellie, please go back to the old “you” ‘coz we don’t wanna see the “aged you”.

Boob job issue aside, she’s been really successful with her showbiz career. Her first album “Small Town Girl” under BNA records became #1 in the U.S. Billboard Top Country Albums. She has appeared in several TV shows, and she’ll soon be having her own half-hour show where she’ll portray a naive small-town girl (surprising or what???). She’s been touring and touring after the AI days, in short, she’s been really busy, and that’s always a good thing.

Last week on the Tyra show, Tyra Banks first had a decent 1-on-1 interview with her idol Cindy Crawford. After the commercial break, she then had Katharine McPhee, and they got really comfy with the girl-talk session.
Tyra: “What’s the weirdest rumor you’ve heard about yourself…?”
Katharine: “…the most recent one that’s really bothering me…they’re saying that my boobs are fake…”
Tyra: “…I saw them jiggle…”
Katherine: “…they jiggle!”
Tyra: “Can I touch them?”
Katharine: “Yeah!”
Tyra: “I can touch them?”
Katharine: “Yeah.”
(and Tyra’s hands went on to hold the controversial boobs for like..2 seconds)
Katherine: “Are they real?”
Tyra: “They’re real!”

Oh well, what people do for TV ratings! They sure pulled it off well, and they were successful in their aim to be the “talk of the whole nation”. Have they been too close for comfort? Probably… But it worked for them, so all’s well.
